SAP Basis / NetWeaver Administrator (HANA Focus)

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis / NetWeaver Administrator with strong SAP HANA database expertise to support and optimize a global SAP landscape. This role is responsible for ensuring system availability, performance, stability, and continuous improvement across enterprise SAP environments.
The successful candidate will support business-critical SAP systems in a 24x7 global environment, working closely with infrastructure, database, and project teams.
Support Hours: Eastern Time Zone
On-call, weekend, and maintenance window support required

Key Responsibilities
SAP Basis Administration

  • Administer and support SAP systems (ABAP & Java stacks).
  • Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and system maintenance.
  • Manage SAP GUI deployments, background jobs, printers, and system monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues using HANA Studio, HANA Cockpit, and DBA Cockpit.
  • Support SAP integrations and interface monitoring.
Incident & Change Management
  • Provide L2/L3 production support and major incident management.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive issue resolution.
  • Ensure SLA compliance and adherence to change management processes.
  • Communicate status updates to stakeholders and management.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity utilization.
  • Support capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives.
  • Drive automation, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
Disaster Recovery & High Availability
  • Support SAP HANA, SQL Server, MaxDB, and Content Server DR environments.
  • Participate in failover testing, DR drills, and HA validation activities.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with Project Managers, infrastructure teams, and global SAP support teams.
  • Support governance processes including SAP Solution Manager and ChaRM.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and best-practice adoption.

SAP HANA Database Expertise (Mandatory)
  • SAP HANA administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • HANA System Replication (HSR), HA/DR setup, monitoring, and failover support.
  • Backup, recovery, upgrades, patching, and capacity management.
  • Analysis of SQL performance, memory utilization, CPU bottlenecks, and data growth.
  • Strong understanding of HANA architecture and database optimization.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of SAP Basis / NetWeaver Administration experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on SAP HANA Database Administration experience
  • Experience supporting SAP on HANA, ASE, SQL Server, and MaxDB.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and SAP system monitoring.
  • Experience in SLA-driven, 24x7 global production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills
  • SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, Enterprise Portal, and NWDI exposure.
  • Experience with SAP high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of ITSM processes and enterprise support models.
