Role Summary
The Senior SAP Basis / NetWeaver Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, monitoring, and optimization of SAP landscapes running on HANA, ASE, SQL Server, and other supported databases. This role ensures system stability, performance, capacity planning, and adherence to global operational standards while supporting mission-critical environments across multiple time zones, including Eastern Time.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Basis Administration
- Manage, monitor, and support SAP systems running on HANA, ASE, and SQL Server databases.
- Perform installations, upgrades, patches, and system maintenance for SAP ABAP, SAP Java, and associated components.
- Administer SAP jobs both directly in SAP and using Redwood Job Scheduler.
- Configure and maintain SAP printers across the landscape.
- Utilize tools such as HANA Studio, DBA Cockpit, trace utilities, and log analysis to troubleshoot performance issues, memory dumps, and CPU consumption.
- Support SAP GUI rollouts and ongoing client management activities.
- Set up and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) environments for SAP HANA, SQL Server, MaxDB, and SAP Content Servers.
- Provide user support, manage major incident calls, document issues, and deliver complete root-cause analysis reports.
- Monitor service tickets, incident queues, and ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Offer on-call support and respond promptly to emails and operational messages.
- Support maintenance windows, project go-lives, and weekend activities when required.
- Configure alerts, monitor systems, and support ChaRM processes in SAP Solution Manager.
- Facilitate execution and administration of Solution Manager-based operational processes.
- Document and troubleshoot SAP interfaces and applied solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge in SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, SAP Enterprise Portal, and NWDI.
- Work closely with DBAs, infrastructure teams, and other service providers, following established change-management processes.

- Collaborate with Project Managers to assess unique SAP Basis requirements and implement corresponding system changes.
- Proactively evaluate upcoming projects, detect potential threshold or capacity issues, and recommend improvements to avoid business impact.
- Provide capacity planning, process optimization, and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Participate in knowledge sharing within global teams to ensure best practices across all > facilities.
- Ensure full compliance with corporate policies, including Health, Safety, Quality, and IT security standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding internal and customer data.
- Drive continuous improvement through metrics analysis, trend reporting, and proactive optimization.
- Identify and implement new operational practices to enhance efficiency and reduce redundancy.
- Demonstrate commitment to exceptional customer service, ensuring issues are addressed quickly and effectively.
- Escalate complex or unusual situations to the reporting manager as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of SAP Basis / NetWeaver Administration experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing HANA databases.
- Strong experience with SAP running on HANA, ASE, SQL Server.
- Experience with Redwood Job Scheduler, SAP job management, and troubleshooting advanced SAP performance issues.
- Knowledge of SAP BTP, Fiori, Enterprise Portal, NWDI, and SAP Solution Manager (alerts & ChaRM).
- Hands-on experience configuring DR systems for SAP landscapes.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using trace utilities, log analyzers, HANA Studio, DBA Cockpit, dumps analysis, etc.
- Ability to work global hours, support Eastern Time Zone, weekends, and operational calls with worldwide > resources.
- Excellent communication skills in English (mandatory).
