Compensation - Competitive (including bonus) Job Description Workday Benefits Functional Consultant is expected to be proficient in implementing, configuring, and supporting Workday Benefits solutions, including benefit plans, eligibility rules, enrollments, life event processing, vendor integrations, reporting, and business process configuration. The consultant will leverage native Workday functionality to deliver scalable and compliant benefits administration solutions aligned with client business requirements. Your Role In the role of Workday HCM Benefits Functional Consultant, you are expected to have hands-on experience in Workday Benefits implementations, enhancements, and production support. You should possess strong expertise in benefits plan configuration, eligibility management, event rules, open enrollment processes, evidence of insurability, dependent and beneficiary administration, Absence, and Core HCM.
You will anchor the engagement effort from business process consulting and requirements gathering through solution design, testing, deployment, and post-production support. You will work closely with HR, Benefits, Payroll, and third-party vendors to ensure successful delivery of benefits solutions.
As a functional expert, you will provide guidance on Workday leading practices, participate in design and architecture reviews, support client workshops, and contribute to organizational capability-building initiatives. Responsibilities
- Relevant experience in Workday Benefits Implementation, Rollout, Upgrade, Enhancement, and Support projects.
- Conduct client workshops and gather requirements related to benefits administration processes.
- Configure and maintain:
- Benefit Plans
- Benefit Groups
- Benefit Eligibility Rules
- Enrollment Events
- Open Enrollment
- Life Event Processing
- Dependent and Beneficiary Tracking
- Evidence of Insurability Processes
- Waiting Periods and Coverage Rules
- Configure and support Benefits-related business processes and approval workflows.
- Design and implement eligibility and enrollment rules based on organizational policies.
- Configure benefit rates, coverage options, employer contributions, and deduction schedules.
- Develop and support Benefits reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
- Perform impact assessments and support annual Open Enrollment activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to enrollments, deductions, life events, eligibility, and vendor feeds.
- Create functional design documents, configuration workbooks, test scripts, and user documentation.
- Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, and deployment activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational benefit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Workday release reviews and recommend adoption of new Benefits features.
- Provide end-user training and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Minimum 10 years of Workday HCM experience with at least 3 years specializing in Workday Benefits.
- Experience in at least 2 full lifecycle Workday implementation projects involving Benefits.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Workday Benefits Certification.
- Experience supporting global benefits programs and regional compliance requirements.
- Experience working with third-party benefits carriers and vendor integrations.
- Experience in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global delivery environment.
