Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Enterprise Data Architect to lead the architecture, design and implementation of a modern, scalable, and secure data ecosystem for one of the largest public healthcare systems in the UK. This is a multi-year transformation initiative focused on delivering data-driven insights, and enabling advanced analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of a strategic data platform program.
- Engage with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, technology partners, and delivery teams to define and drive the data strategy.
- Architect and implement solutions using the Microsoft Azure Data Stack, including:
- Microsoft Fabric
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Databricks
- Microsoft Purview
- Power BI, OneLake, and Dataverse
- Define reference architectures, data models, and integration patterns for clinical, operational, and workforce data.
- Support HRMS modernization, integrating legacy systems with cloud-native platforms.
- Implement data governance frameworks aligned with GDPR, HIPAA, and UK public sector compliance mandates.
- Enable AI/ML capabilities for predictive analytics and operational insights.
- Legacy modernisation and implementation of lakehouse architecture.
- Work n a global delivery model, ensuring alignment across geographies, multi cultural teams and time zones
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in data & analytics platform architecture and design.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Data Technologies.
- Proven track record of delivering at least one large-scale program within the UK public sector, preferably in UK healthcare.
- Strong understanding of data mesh, lakehouse, and modern data architecture principles.
- Experience working with Oracle HCM is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in HRMS transformation in public sector or healthcare domains.
- Familiarity with UK healthcare data standards
