Infosys is seeking a Principal SAP Basis Consultant

As a Principal Consultant, you will anchor the engagement effort for assignments, all the way from business process consulting and problem definition to solution design, development and deployment. You will be pivotal to problem definition and discovery of the overall solution and guide teams on project processes, deliverables. As a thought leader in your domain, you will be the key advisor to architecture and design reviews. You will anchor business pursuit initiatives, client training, in-house capability building. You will have the opportunity to shape value-adding consulting solutions that enable our clients to meet the changing needs of the global landscape.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 11 years of experience with Information Technology .
  • Location for this position is Spring, TX. This position may require travel to project / client locations.

SAP Basis Administration
  • Manage and support SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, Solution Manager, Fiori, BTP connectivity).
  • Handle system installations, upgrades, support packages, and kernel updates.
  • Handle client copies, system refreshes, transports, and configuration management.
  • Maintain user administration, authorizations, and system security compliance.
  • Troubleshoot system and performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Manage job scheduling, background processing, and batch management.
SAP HANA Administration
  • Administer and monitor HANA databases (scale-up and scale-out environments).
  • Perform HANA system replication setup, backup/recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Conduct database tuning, memory management, and SQL performance analysis.
  • Manage multi-tenant database containers (MDC) and data volume growth.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery strategies for HANA systems.
Technical Projects & Architecture
  • Lead system migration projects (e.g., SAP ECC to S/4HANA, on-prem to cloud).
  • Design and document system landscapes, architecture, and change management processes.
  • Support integration with third-party systems, interfaces, and middleware.
  • Collaborate with cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP) for infrastructure optimization.
Monitoring, Security & Compliance
  • Implement proactive monitoring using tools like Solution Manager, CCMS, and SAP EarlyWatch.
  • Ensure system compliance with corporate and SAP security standards.
  • Coordinate audit responses and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
Incident & SLA Management
  • Track and resolve incidents within SLA timelines..
  • Handle SLA breaches promptly and provide root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams for critical issues.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
  • Configure and maintain HANA system replication and failover strategies.
  • Validate DR drills and ensure readiness for business continuity.
Project Leadership
  • Lead system upgrades, migrations, and cloud integration projects.
  • Collaborate with functional teams, infrastructure, and cloud partners.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for BASIS/HANA/S4-related issues.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
  • Prepare SOPs and KT documents.
  • Mentor team members and conduct technical training sessions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for audits and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis and HANA Administration
  • Strong expertise in S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, FIORI, BTP and FRUN.
  • Experience with OS/DB migrations, system copies, and HANA upgrades.
  • Proficiency in Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud SAP deployments (Azure / AWS / GCP).
  • Experience in Performance Tuning, HA/DR setup, and system monitoring.
  • Familiarity with SAP Router, SNC, SSL, SAP Web Dispatcher, and Fiori Launchpad.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and SAP Cloud Connector.
  • Knowledge of SAP GRC, Solution Manager ChaRM, and SAP Landscape Management (LaMa).
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, or scripts) for SAP operations.
  • Conversant with SAP Upgrade and SAP conversion projects

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
