Job Description -

  • Responsible for designing, architecting, implementing and maintaining resilient and redundant RedHat OpenShift containerization platform on bare metal servers/ virtual machines on both public and private clouds(on-premises). Able to setup all pre-requisites like compute, network, load balancer, storage, DNS, DHCP, SSL certificates etc as per customer requirements working with related teams both on public and private cloud. Should be able to prepare all the related High-level design, low level design and build documents as per secure by design principles. Responsible for setting up DR solutions for OpenShift and related eco system tools. Responsible for setting up all eco system tools require for OpenShift platform as per customer requirements.
  • Responsible for OpenShift Container Platform administration activities like Installation using UPI or IPI methods in an air-gapped environments(without internet) , setting up internal container registry as per customer requirements, upgrading/patching the existing OpenShift platform from lower version to higher version (minor/major) quarterly as per customer requirements, helping application teams/owners/DevOps teams in onboarding cloud native containerized applications to OpenShift clusters with out any issues and coordinating with them to solve any application/OpenShift related issues while onboarding, configuring customer trusted SSL certificates to master and ingress endpoints, configuring observability(monitoring and logging) for the platform as well as hosted containerized applications, setting up identity providers integration for IAM, creating and managing users RBAC, setup Migration runbooks and help customer in migrating from older to newer OpenShift clusters, Good knowledge in integrating 3rd Party tools with OpenShift cluster )
  • Responsible for working in shifts and owning engineering activities related to OpenShift Container Platform and its eco system. Good knowledge in troubleshooting OpenShift issues at L3 level. Good Knowledge in engaging RedHat vendor during P1/P2 issues and solving product related bugs along with RedHat technical engineers. Responsible for solving P1 issues in coordination with offshore team/client and vendor as per customer provides SLA. Responsible for providing RCA for any P1 issues. Responsible for setting up observability to proactively identify and stop potential P1 issues. Responsible for taking measures in closing repeated incidents along with the team. Responsible for setting up mechanism to take Openshift clusters related backups regularly. Responsible for setting up daily health checks, shift roaster and shift handover procedures in-place.
  • Responsible for designing all elements of OpenShift project as per application requirements. Responsible for preparing end to end runbook for onboarding applications to OpenShift clusters. Responsible for handling all firewall related requests (ingress/egress) that are required for onboarding the application. Responsible for integrating monitoring, logging, IAM and storage solutions as per application requirements. Responsible for setting up alerting mechanism for identifying OpenShift platform level issues and extend to application related alerting if required.
  • Responsible for deploying and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines or similar on OpenShift clusters. Responsible for coordinating with application teams in using CI/CD tools for deploying applications on OpenShift clusters. Responsible for automating new OpenShift platform features, updating existing platform features as per customer needs using automated pipelines. Setup pipelines which check the clusters and used for troubleshooting containerized related issues by generating regular reports.
