New Relic Expert / Performance Monitoring Specialist
Observability Architect (New Relic & Modern Monitoring Tools) Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Observability Architect with 10+ years of experience in monitoring and observability solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in New Relic, hands-on experience in end-to-end tracing configuration, log analytics, and strong knowledge of New Relic license models and cost optimization strategies. The role involves designing and implementing enterprise-grade observability solutions, creating dashboard mockups, and integrating multiple tools to deliver end-to-end visibility across applications. Key Responsibilities • Define observability strategy and architecture using New Relic and complementary tools.
• Prepare HLD/LLD and create dashboard mockups for role-based views.
• Configure New Relic APM, Infrastructure, Logs, Dashboards, and Alerts.
• Implement end-to-end distributed tracing across applications.
• Develop NRQL queries and optimize alerting for precision.
• Integrate observability with ITSM tools, CI/CD pipelines, and OpenTelemetry.
• Work with cloud-native monitoring tools, Splunk, and other APM solutions.
• Understand application architecture (Java/.NET) for agent deployment and tracing.
• Implement RBAC, masking, and security best practices.
• Manage New Relic license models, optimize usage, and implement strategies to reduce ingestion and retention costs.
• Deliver documentation, runbooks, and KT sessions. Required Skills • 10+ years in monitoring/observability solutions.
• Hands-on experience with New Relic (APM, Infrastructure, Logs, NRQL).
• Expertise in end-to-end tracing configuration and log analytics.
• Familiarity with Open Telemetry, Splunk, and cloud-native monitoring tools.
• Ability to create dashboard mockups and UX-driven designs.
• Strong understanding of application development and distributed tracing.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications • New Relic certifications.
• Experience in enterprise-scale implementations.
• Knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and integration patterns.
