Compensation - Competitive (including bonus) Job Description Workday Absence Functional Consultant is expected to be proficient in implementing, configuring, and supporting Workday Absence Management solutions. The consultant will be responsible for designing absence plans, time off plans, leave policies, eligibility rules, accrual calculations, validations, business processes, reporting while leveraging native Workday functionality to meet business requirements. Your Role In the role of Workday HCM Absence Functional Consultant, you are expected to have hands-on experience in Workday Absence Management implementation and production support, including researching and resolving system issues, process gaps, configuration defects, and enhancement requests. You should possess strong expertise in configuring absence plans, time off plans, accruals, carryover rules, leave eligibility, time-off validations, leave approvals with Core HCM, Time Tracking, Benefits, and Payroll.
You will anchor the engagement effort for assignments, from business process consulting and requirement gathering to solution design, testing, deployment, and post-production support. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, HR teams, and technical teams to deliver scalable and compliant absence management solutions.

As a functional expert, you will participate in design reviews, client workshops, capability building initiatives, and provide thought leadership on Workday Absence Management best practices. Responsibilities
- Relevant experience in Workday Absence Management Implementation, Rollout, Upgrade, Enhancement, and Support projects.
- Conduct discovery workshops and gather business requirements related to leave and absence processes.
- Configure and maintain:
- Absence Plans
- Leave Types
- Time Off Plans
- Accrual Calculations
- Carryover Rules
- Waiting Periods
- Eligibility Rules
- Leave Validation Rules
- Leave Conversion Rules
- Configure absence-related business processes and approval workflows.
- Design and maintain country-specific and customer-specific leave policies.
- Support integration of Absence Management with Core HCM, Time Tracking, Payroll, Benefits, and Third-Party Systems.
- Analyze business requirements and recommend Workday-leading practices.
- Create functional specifications, configuration workbooks, and solution documents.
- Execute system testing, SIT, UAT, regression testing, and deployment support activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to leave balances, accrual calculations, eligibility rules, and absence reporting.
- Develop and support absence-related reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and statutory leave requirements.
- Support Workday release management activities and evaluate new absence features.
- Provide user training, knowledge transfer, and documentation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous process improvements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, status reporting, and project governance activities.
- Minimum 12 years of Workday HCM experience with at least 3 years specializing in Workday Absence Management.
- Experience in at least 2 full lifecycle Workday implementations involving Absence Management.
- Strong functional expertise in:
- Workday Absence Management
- Core HCM
- Experience configuring absence plans, leave types, accrual schedules, carryover rules, and eligibility criteria.
- Strong understanding of global and regional leave management processes.
- Experience in requirement gathering, design workshops, testing, and deployment activities.
- Ability to convert business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting production environments and resolving complex functional issues.
- Workday Absence Management Certification.
- Experience with Workday Time Tracking and Payroll.
- Experience supporting global absence implementations.
- Knowledge of Workday Reporting, Calculated Fields, and Security.
- Experience in Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Experience in Workday release impact assessments and feature adoption.
- Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
