The resource will provide hands-on engineering across the full SDLC, applying modern Spring Boot development practices and DevSecOps delivery using Jenkins/GitLab CI/CD, with database change management via Flyway. The role also includes evaluating and integrating AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build/maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or GitLab
  • Implement automated testing (unit/integration) and quality gates
  • Integrate security checks (SAST/DAST/dependency scanning) into pipelines
  • Manage database versioning and deployments using Flyway (migrations, baseline strategy, rollback approach where applicable).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; perform root-cause analysis; optimize performance and reliability.
  • Support integration efforts (including COTS integration) and coordinate with security, operations, and architecture teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, peer reviews, and technical documentation; uphold coding standards and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI (e.g., intelligent automation, summarization/classification, anomaly detection) while meeting security governance requirements.
Preferred Skills:
  • Senior-level, hands-on experience in Java development in a web-based environment.
  • Strong experience with:
  • Spring Boot (building services, configuration, profiles, security patterns)
  • REST APIs and service integration
  • Relational databases and SQL
  • Flyway for database migration/version control
  • Jenkins and/or GitLab for CI/CD
  • Proven DevSecOps experience, including automated build/test/deploy and secure coding practices.
  • Experience supporting applications in production, including incident support and operational stability.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to work independently on complex initiatives.
  • 10 years of development hands on experience
  • Experience with AI-enabled application features or integrating AI services/APIs in an enterprise setting.
  • Experience with COTS integration and enterprise modernization efforts.
  • Experience in regulated environments (government/federal) with security/compliance constraints.
  • Familiarity with containerization and cloud-ready deployment patterns (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master's degree program are strongly preferred.
