Java Distributed System Architect

Infosys is seeking a Java Disturbed System Architect - This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply technical proficiency across different stages of the software development life cycle including requirements elicitation, application architecture definition and design; play an important role in creating the high-level design artifacts; deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Jersey City, NJ, or New York, NY or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.

• At least 7 years of Information Technology experience.
• Experience in Java and Spring boot Microservices architecture and API design
• Experience in Kubernetes and containerization and Distributed databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience in Event streaming/messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar).
• Resiliency patterns (circuit breakers, retries, bulkheads, backpressure)
• Experience in modern DevOps tooling.
• Experience in track record leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale distributed platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
• At least 7 years of Distributed Systems software engineering experience, including microservices.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (load balancing, DNS, service discovery), distributed tracing, and observability.
• Prior experience in large-scale banking environments. (Wealth Management, Asset Movement)
• This role requires deep expertise in Kubernetes, event streaming technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ), API gateways, service mesh, distributed databases (MongoDB, Postgres), caching layers (Redis/Hazel cast), DevOps tools, and modern observability tooling
• Experience in oversee a team of engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade banking applications and systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in modern distributed systems, and microservices architecture, combined with leadership skills to drive innovation and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Experience in Systems Integration and Architecting skillsets.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and leading SW development team.
• Exposure in Angular
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment
• Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.

Estimated annual compensation range for candidates in the below locations will be-
New York: $ 96,021 - $ 139,314
New Jersey: $ 96,021 - $ 124,827
