Roles and Responsibilities
The D365 SCM Functional Lead is responsible for leading the functional design, configuration, and deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management across global implementations. The role ensures alignment with the Global Template while addressing country-specific business processes and localization requirements. The SCM Functional Lead works closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and fit-to-standard SCM solutions.
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Proven experience in large-scale global ERP implementations and rollouts
• Strong exposure to multi-country, multi-legal entity ERP landscapes
• Experience working with Global Template-based ERP programs
• Hands-on experience in APAC country rollouts, including:
- Singapore
- Taiwan
- China (Shanghai, Beijing)
- Korea
- Japan
- Able to understand local business processes, legal, and statutory requirements. Identify local gaps, risks, and dependencies early.
- Able to understand the Global Template solution and map/implement the localization requirements as per the template for APAC roll out.
Core Functional Responsibilities - D365 SCM
- Lead functional ownership across D365 SCM modules, including:
- Product Information Management (PIM)
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Inventory Management
- Advance Warehouse Management (WMS)
- Master Planning / MRP
- Manufacturing
- Sales and Marketing
- Conduct fit-to-standard / fit-gap workshops with business stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into:
- Functional solution designs
- Configuration and setup in D365 SCM
- Drive adoption of standard D365 functionality with minimal customization
- Ensure end-to-end SCM process integration across modules

- Understand and apply the Global D365 SCM Template
- Assess regional and local requirements against the global template
- Identify:
- Gaps
- Localization needs
- Risks and dependencies
- Design and implement localization solutions aligned to template principles
- Ensure compliance with local statutory, regulatory, and operational requirements
- Support country rollouts across APAC, EMEA, and Americas while protecting template integrity
- Act as the functional design authority for SCM workstreams

- Review and approve SCM-related:
- Functional changes

- Data migration and reporting teams
- Define functional requirements for integrations with:
- Third-party WMS / TMS systems
- MES, PLM, and supplier portals
- Logistics partners and EDI interfaces
- Support data migration activities:
- Data mapping
- Data validation
- Mock loads and cutover readiness
- Lead and support:
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Defect triage and resolution
- Support cutover planning and execution
- Play a key role during Go-Live and Hypercare
- Support post-go-live stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement
- Train and mentor business users and junior consultants
- Strong functional expertise in:
- Advanced Warehouse Management (WMS)
- Planning optimization and MRP strategies
- Manufacturing and logistics processes
- Experience working in fit-to-standard, agile, or hybrid delivery models
- Familiarity with D365 LCS, BPM, and DevOps processes
- Exposure to SCM ISVs and automation solutions
- Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

1. Skills /Competencies:
- 12+ years of hands-on experience in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
- MBA-Finance/Chartered Accountant/Bachelor degree in Engineering/Computer science
- Proven experience as a Finance Functional Lead on end-to-end D365 Finance implementations
- Strong experience supporting multi-country and multi-legal-entity ERP rollouts
- Experience working in global template-based ERP programs
- Experience in Asian countries roll out (Singapore, Taiwan, China Shanghai, China Beijing, Korea, Japan ) experience.
- Able to understand local business processes, legal, and statutory requirements. Identify local gaps, risks, and dependencies early.
- Able to understand the Global Template solution and map/implement the localization requirements as per the template for APAC roll out.
- Lead the Finance workstream for D365 Finance implementations and rollouts
- Act as the primary functional authority for Finance modules, including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Fixed Assets
- Cash & Bank Management
- Budgeting and Financial Reporting
- Drive functional solution design decisions aligned with business and IT strategy
- Engage with business stakeholders to:
- Understand global and local finance processes
- Capture and validate business requirements
- Translate business requirements into scalable, standard D365 Finance solutions
- Ensure solutions adhere to Microsoft best practices and minimize customizations
- Engage with business stakeholders to:
- Understand and work within the Global Finance Template
- Assess local business, legal, tax, and statutory requirements against the global design
- Identify Localization gaps, Process and data impacts
- Design and implement compliant localization solutions without compromising global standards
Lead and support:
- Functional design validation

- Data migration validation
- Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, and hypercare activities
