Business Process Owner for Marketing

As part of a large-scale global transformation, a world-leading FMCG company has partnered with Infosys to redesign and elevate its Global Business Services (GBS) to world-class standards. To support this journey, we are seeking Business Process Owner (BPO) - Marketing (GBS)- who will act as the "single point of accountability" for the Marketing processes within the GBS coverage globally and ensuring operational excellence in our Bucharest delivery center. The Business Process Owner (BPO) for Marketing (GBS) is accountable for the end-to-end process design, governance, performance, and continuous improvement of activities across Marketing processes within the GBS operating model. This role ensures standardized, compliant, digitally enabled processes that deliver measurable value in cost, risk, consumer experience, and stakeholder experience. The Marketing processes include processes for Consumer Carelines, Content Management, Product Information Management, Consumer Data Management, Marketing Automation, Digital Shelf Analytics, Innovation and Artwork management, CMI and Media management.
Your tasks in detail:
- Consistent process standards, policies, and controls across regions/business units;
- High-quality execution with clear roles, governance, and service performance;
- Strong compliance and risk management;
- Maximum value realization through digital tools (CDP, PIM, DAM, Service Cloud etc) and analytics;
- Scalable operations that enable growth, transformation, and business agility;
- Own global Marketing process taxonomy, standards, and operating procedures across different areas of marketing (Consumer Carelines, PIM, DAM, Content Management, Consumer Data Management, Marketing Automation, Innovation and Artwork management, Web & Campaign Delivery);
- Define process boundaries and handoffs with interfacing teams like R&D, Quality & Sales;
- Own process documentation: SOPs, work instructions, RACI, decision matrices, and process maps;
- Act as primary GBS interface for Marketing stakeholders for the process design & governance;
- Translate stakeholder's needs into prioritized delivery plans and backlogs;
- Drive transparency through performance reporting and proactive risk management;
- Ensure Marketing processes comply with privacy and security policies, and required regulatory/ GDPR and GS1 controls;
- Partner with Legal and Risk to standardize contract clauses, playbooks, templates, and approval workflows;
- Drive audit readiness and control effectiveness (evidence, testing, remediation);
- Define and manage GBS Marketing KPIs and SLAs;
- Create insight-driven performance reviews, root-cause analyses, and action plans;
- Improve stakeholder satisfaction and service experience;
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across GBS Marketing Process Operations;
- Identify bottlenecks and drive standardization, simplification, and automation;
- Deliver measurable benefits: cycle-time reduction, compliance uplift, cost avoidance, risk reduction;
- Build process knowledge and capability across GBS operations and category teams;
- Develop playbooks, training curriculums, and onboarding materials;
- Coach teams on best practices in marketing processes, governance, and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field ;
- Master's degree / MBA (preferred);
- 10-12+ years in Marketing / Ecommerce / digital transformation/ operations and process management;
- Strong experience in Marketing process design and governance ;
- Proven experience managing marketing processes (innovation, artwork, PIM, content management, consumer carelines) processes;
- Experience working in GBS / Shared Services / COE models with global stakeholders;
- Experience with process controls, audits, policy compliance, and operating model design;
- Track record of delivering measurable improvements;
- End-to-end Marketing expertise (innovation, artwork, PIM, content management, consumer carelines, consumer data management, Marketing automation, cmi, media);
- Experience in working in different areas of marketing, exhibiting business process knowledge;
- Understanding of consumer marketing related data and content management (product information, marketing content, digital asset, GS1 compliance);
- Execution through people - motivates, coaches and removes obstacles;
- Strong accountability and results orientation;
- Business partnering and cross - functional collaboration;
- Data - driven decision making and structured problem solving;
- Demonstrated success in project/program management for complex, multi-entity transitions;
- Process design, documentation, and standardization;
- Continuous improvement (LSS Green Belt/Black Belt preferred);
- Change management and adoption leadership in matrix organizations;
- Project/program management discipline (Agile/Waterfall; PM certification a plus);
- Strong analytical capability: KPI design, insights, dashboards, business case creation;
- Value measurement discipline (savings, cost avoidance, compliance value, risk reduction);
- Negotiation governance, stakeholder influence, and escalation management
- "Owner mindset" and accountability for outcomes;
- Influencing without authority; executive-ready communication;
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and drive alignment across competing priorities;
