Your role and responsibilities
We're looking for an experienced content designer to support the delivery of a great end-to-end content experiences for an industry-leading asset and facilities management suite of products. You will have the opportunity to design and develop various forms of content that drives awareness, technical proficiency, and product adoption.
You'll join the worldwide design organization for Asset Lifecycle Management - a part of IBM that is collectively responsible for software products focused on AI-enabled solutions that help our customers make more informed and data-driven decisions about how to manage their businesses and services.
You will be joining as a senior member of an existing, geo-dispersed design team - taking overall direction from Design leadership, while leading individual projects and providing direction and support to other designers.
Responsiblities:
- Lead with an owner's mentality to deliver ideas and cohesive end to end content experiences that differentiate our solutions in the market and drive action.
- Simplify technically complex concepts and details from multiple sources into consumable content (multimedia, visuals, training) that drives user actions. Deliver clear, inclusive, accessible, and translated content for a global audience.
- Solve challenging problems and think of new ways to deliver better content to various audiences (clients, partners, sellers).
- Research and design content based on user scenarios and use cases: understand personas, deliver content for design iterations , actively contribute to design reviews, conduct user testing/research to validate content.
- Work closely with Product Management, Design, Development, Marketing, Support, Sales, Training, to tell a cohesive product story. Use expertise and user empathy to influence design decisions to deliver the best user experiences we can for our clients.
- Own parts of the end-to-end authoring process: design, development, editing, production, translation, life cycle management.
- Own operational outcomes managing project tasks and deliverables using agile methodologies.
- Lead playbacks and present work as part of a compelling narrative to elicit buy-in from cross-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Cultivate a healthy, collaborative, and trusting team culture where you are comfortable giving and receiving feedback and asking for direction when needed.

Required technical and professional expertise
- Experience (7+ years) developing content for accuracy, clarity, and usability.
- Proven design skills to create strategic and intelligent content that serves multiple purposes and enhances the user experience by taking a smart approach to content creation.
- Demonstrates ability to evaluate and design for the interactions between language and design elements to construct a logical, compelling narrative throughout user/client journey.
- Deep expertise with modern design tools (Adobe Creative Studio, Figma, etc) and content development tools, especially multimedia.
- Great sense of typography, iconography, color theory, and visual composition and a strong, clean visual design sense.
- Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills as well as storytelling and documentation skills
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment.
- Portfolio of previous work must be presented.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Understand modern design thinking and design trends (including responsiveness and accessibility, AI).
- Demonstrated interest and experience using AI in content operations

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
