SAP Functional Consultant - RTR

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in SAP Finance (FI), General Ledger, Consolidation, and Financial Controls, along with a solid understanding of compliance and governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of Record to Report processes in SAP, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
- Configure and support SAP FI modules including General Ledger (GL), Asset Accounting (AA), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Financial Closing Cockpit.
- Implement and enhance internal controls within SAP to ensure accuracy and compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.
- Support financial close, consolidation, and reporting processes (including integration with SAP Group Reporting / BPC / S/4HANA Finance).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate R2R processes with Procure to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash (O2C), and other business cycles.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis, develop functional specifications, and support testing and deployment activities.
- Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement for SAP R2R and Controls solutions.
- Partner with business stakeholders to assess process maturity and recommend automation or optimization opportunities.
- Ensure strong documentation and adherence to governance and compliance frameworks.
- Stay updated on SAP best practices, new functionalities, and industry trends in financial reporting and controls.
Required education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma

Required technical and professional expertise
- 7-10 years of experience in SAP Finance (FI) with a focus on Record to Report and Controls.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance or ECC in R2R processes.
- Strong understanding of financial close processes, reporting, and consolidation.
- Experience with internal controls, audit requirements, and SOX compliance in SAP environments.
- Solid knowledge of integration between FI and other modules (CO, MM, SD, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with global teams and manage complex projects.
