Your role and responsibilities

Overview

HashiCorp Cloud Platform (HCP) provides a unified, managed experience for organizations to deploy, operate, and scale across diverse cloud environments. As adoption grows, scale and performance are critical to delivering reliable, efficient, and predictable outcomes for customers. Ensuring that HashiCorp Cloud meets the demands of global enterprises requires robust performance engineering and a product mindset that prioritizes scalability and resilience.

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution for Scale and Performance across HashiCorp Cloud. This role will focus on building the frameworks, tooling, and insights needed to validate and continuously improve performance across HashiCorp Cloud assets, regions, and workloads. You will help ensure that HashiCorp Cloud delivers consistent, reliable experiences as customers scale their operations worldwide.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Vision

  • Define and execute the strategy for scale and performance across HashiCorp Cloud, ensuring that enterprise customers can confidently grow without performance bottlenecks.
  • Identify and prioritize cross-asset scalability challenges, performance risks, and platform dependencies.
  • Partner with engineering and architecture teams to design performance validation frameworks, benchmarks, and KPIs that define "at scale" reliability for HashiCorp Cloud.
  • Drive a unified perspective on performance across HashiCorp Cloud, ensuring scalability is integral to how new assets and services are designed.

Roadmap Prioritization and Delivery

  • Own and maintain the roadmap for scale and performance initiatives, prioritizing improvements that reduce latency, improve efficiency, and enhance predictability at scale.
  • Write and manage Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to guide engineering teams in developing performance testing, automation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate across engineering, operations, and platform teams to deliver measurable improvements in reliability and scalability across HashiCorp Cloud assets.

Customer-Centric Product Development

  • Engage directly with enterprise customers to understand real-world scale and performance requirements.
  • Translate workload demands (e.g., latency, throughput, multi-region failover, efficiency under load) into actionable product requirements.
  • Partner with support, customer success, and field teams to validate performance outcomes and close gaps in customer experience.

Collaboration Across HashiCorp Cloud Teams

  • Partner with HashiCorp Cloud asset owners to ensure new capabilities meet defined performance and scalability standards.
  • Advocate for performance-driven design and testing across the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure performance and scale metrics align with HashiCorp Cloud's platform-wide SLAs, SLOs, and compliance commitments.

Go-to-Market Support

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and enablement teams to highlight HashiCorp Cloud's scale and performance strengths.
  • Develop messaging, benchmarks, and materials that demonstrate HashiCorp Cloud's ability to meet demanding enterprise workloads.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • 3+ years of product management experience in cloud platforms, infrastructure, or enterprise software. Overall, 5+ years of demonstrated ability in other roles such as software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar.
  • Familiarity with performance engineering, benchmarking, and scalability challenges in distributed, multi-tenant systems.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience across cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), observability tooling, and modern performance practices.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams (engineering, architecture, design, sales, marketing).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data, identify bottlenecks, and prioritize based on customer and platform impact.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Familiarity with HashiCorp and IBM Products and Services
