In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

We are thrilled to offer a Project Manager position, focusing on leading cross-functional teams in delivering custom development solutions or managing application maintenance and support. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to gain hands-on experience in project management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional project teams in delivering custom development solutions or managing application maintenance and support.
  • Ensure project completion within the specified scope, cost, and timeline while meeting business requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements, including IBM, client employees, and third-party vendors.
  • Establish effective communication plans, deliver regular project status updates to stakeholders, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement
  • Assisting with resource management activities, including onboarding, offboarding, and general team coordination and logistics
  • Facilitating sessions and meetings within the account, including attending key discussions, capturing progress updates, and drafting reports
  • Organising and supporting events at the Leicester base, including managing room bookings and contributing to location-based initiatives
  • Supporting both local and broader Borders & Trade initiatives, fostering collaboration across teams
  • Contributing to the coordination and successful delivery of project milestones and governance activities, including regular reporting
  • Developing a basic understanding of project commercials (Fixed Price / T&M) and assisting with forecast updates
  • Facilitating collaboration between the account and wider Welfare, Tax, and Customs teams to ensure alignment and delivery continuity

    This is a hands-on role that blends operational support with the opportunity to develop practical delivery experience

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Strong organisational skills - Able to manage tasks coordinate logistics and keep things running smoothly across teams and locations.
  • Good communication - Comfortable speaking with others and writing clearly whether it's in meetings reports or day-to-day conversations.
  • Team player - Works well with others and supports team goals helping to build a positive and collaborative working environment.
