Your role and responsibilities
Firmware Developer, IBM Corporation, Poughkeepsie, NY:
- Develop a distribution and integration system for System Z Firmware deliveries based on microcode updates and microcode level fixes, requiring knowledge in various technologies and specific knowledge about the Z Firmware delivery process.
- Support and maintain the System Z Firmware delivery tool chain, requiring experience and understanding of how different components, such as packaging, signing, repositories, pipelines of subsystems, and APIs of legacy and current systems interact with each other.
- Troubleshoot issues for internal stakeholders, debugging the Z Firmware delivery process and associated tools.
- Develop a multi-architecture solution to improve the developer experience across the Z Firmware delivery team, including running of Z Robot framework tests system.
- Increase the resiliency and robustness of the Z Firmware delivery service.
- Manage DevOps and monitoring of a REST application.
- Implement an alerting solution for the Z Firmware delivery service based on services from the IBM cloud, requiring knowledge of IBM cloud logging and alerting solutions and integrations such as slack.
- Develop a tracing solution to accelerate debugging and troubleshooting for the Firmware delivery service.
- Ensure that development, staging, and production environments, and the software development process, meet security guidelines and adhere to Security and Privacy by Design principles.
- Utilize: Containerized Spring Boot Application based on Java and podman, Jenkins CI and pipelines, Advanced RedHat Enterprise Linux System Administration, bash programming, Designing and Implementing REST APIs, OpenAPI Standard.
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience as a Software Developer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Containerized Spring Boot Application based on Java and podman, Jenkins CI and pipelines, Advanced RedHat Enterprise Linux System Administration, bash programming, Designing and Implementing REST APIs, OpenAPI Standard. $159999 to $175000 per year.
