Engineering Operations Manager

Introduction
As the Engineering Operations Manager, you will lead engineering operations across the Mid-Hudson Valley (MHV) and broader Americas region. This role requires a strategic leader, while operating in a fast pace enviroment with a deep technical expertise in facilities management, particularly in mechanical and electrical systems. You will drive operational excellence, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure service delivery meets IBM's high standards.
Your role and responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operational Support
- Lead a team of electrical and mechanical engineers; serve as the subject matter expert for the market
- Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, proactively solving challenges and driving improvements
- Develop deep client business intelligence to anticipate needs and deliver strategic value
- Ability to respond and provide resultion in a 24x7 critical enviroment
- Oversee operations of mechanical, electrical, critical environments, and fire/life safety systems for a diverse portfolio
- Ensure compliance with preventative maintence program that is completed by the service provider
- Optimize SOPs and implement best practices across the portfolio
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the on account service providers, SMEs, CIO teams, Space & Occupancy, IT, Security, EHS, and strategic vendors.
- Support regional initiatives while maintaining consistency and quality across the Americas
- Translate complex technical requirements into actionable business solutions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
- Particiate in the captial planning for the protfolio and act as engineering MSE on capital projects
Leaders are expected to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week, subject to business needs.

Required technical and professional expertise
Essential Requirements
- 10+ years in senior-level Facilities Engineering role or technical leadership roles.
- Subject matter expertise in hard services within facilities management or critical infrastructure environment.
Technical Excellence
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, critical environment systems, and local codes.
- Experience with contracts, budget, schedule, and construction projects.
Leadership & Strategic Thinking
- Exceptional team leadership and talent development skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Professional Engineer License is a plus.
- Ability to balance business needs with real estate objectives.
- Skilled in managing client sensitivities and escalation protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Proven experience managing diverse facilities across multiple regions.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex engineer programs.
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
This position is eligible for participation in an IBM Sales Incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change. The compensation range listed for this position is the IBM Reference Salary that is used when you are not actively participating in a sales plan. Your actual base pay plus incentive opportunity will be determined by the Incentive Plan assigned to you.
