Development Support Engineer
Introduction
We are seeking a technically strong, detail-oriented engineer with excellent communication and collaboration skills. You should be comfortable working across multiple teams and stakeholders, and bring a proactive mindset to problem-solving, automation, and continuous improvement.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Development Support Engineer within the Office of the CIO, you will play a critical role on the IBM App Services team, supporting internal clients across IBM by providing program-level support and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for macOS and mobile applications (iOS and Android). You will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of automation workflows, ensuring secure and scalable release processes across all IBM App Services programs.
You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to support development workflows, troubleshoot build and signing issues, and enforce best practices across the organization. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of app delivery for IBM.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing program support to all internal clients supported by IBM App Services.
- Supporting IBM App Services programs and automation pipelines.
- Providing administrative support for Apple and Google developer programs, including managing provisioning profiles, certificates, bundle identifiers, and other signing components.
- Onboarding new projects, teams, and team members into CI/CD workflows and automation frameworks.
- Testing and validating signing and notarization scripts to ensure compliance with Apple's security standards.
- Maintaining and enhancing automation scripts using Bash and Ruby, with a focus on reliability and scalability.
- Performing app reviews for iOS, Android, and macOS applications to ensure they meet IBM standards and policies.
- Developing features and solutions to improve automation frameworks for code signing, notarization, and app store uploads.
- Troubleshooting build, signing, and deployment issues across macOS, iOS, Android, and other platforms.
- Collaborating with engineering and product teams to ensure processes meet stakeholder requirements.
- Providing DevOps support for mobile and macOS applications, with a primary focus on macOS tooling.
- Partnering with platform engineering and foundational services to align with strategic goals and improve delivery pipelines.
Required education
High School Diploma/GED

Required technical and professional expertise
- Bash scripting
- Ruby (including fastlane automation)
- macOS Terminal and Xcode
- Jenkins
- GitHub
- Package automation and CI/CD workflows
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Mobile developer programs (Apple Developer Program, Google Play Console, Firebase, etc.)
- Provisioning profiles, certificates, and bundle IDs
- Signing and notarization for macOS apps
- iOS and Android build and release processes
