Your role and responsibilities

The Client Experience Manager is responsible for the successful execution of IBM Sports and Entertainment events and hospitality for our UK and EMEA partnership engagements. They create experiential client engagements and partner closely with agency partners to bring these plans to life. They are responsible for understanding the Global Event Process, including event marketing tools. They collaborate closely with SEP team members, agencies, cross-functional teams, and sales teams to develop an optimized event plan.

They will contribute to global event planning and consistent design/delivery to build and generate sales pipeline, reporting to the SEP Global Client Experience Hospitality Lead.

In this role, the Client Experience Manager will:

  • Own and optimize events to meet business objectives based on stakeholder feedback
  • Partner with key stakeholders
  • Design individual event attendee experience within the client journey
  • Manage post-event outcomes and performance with relevant stakeholders
  • Handle end-to-end process and tools: including EMB, logo licenses, CTEBA, data privacy, GDPR, etc.
  • Ensure all legal, compliance, finance, and other required processes are completed efficiently

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Understanding the environment: Professional knowledge related to the function and its process
  • Impeccable communication & ability to negotiate: Advises other professionals. Effectively utilizes group dynamics. Negotiates to define approaches and goals.
  • Ability to problem solve: recognizes complex problems related to functional objectives. Applies creativity and judgement to developmental work on different projects within the business environment. Analyzes situations and implements solutions or develops new system elements, procedures, or processes.
  • Business impact/ROI focus: Accountable for results and for activities and/or projects involving multi-functional teams. Regularly participates in overall functional program planning. Demonstrates discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance to IBM.
  • Team contribution & leadership: provides ongoing guidance to lead professional work teams. Understands functional mission and vision. Utilizes expertise to directly influence people outside the function. Defines and decides objectives within specified projects.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid experience in event marketing, event design, event production, and hospitality
  • Experience with event and/or marketing platforms, including Rainfocus, CVENT, Airtable, Mural, etc., preferred
  • Ability to think strategically and to manage resources (time and budget) to achieve objectives
  • Guides functional objectives or technologies, provides leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including attention to detail
  • High energy, independent worker, self-starter, resourceful, and problem-solver
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, managing resources and several projects simultaneously
  • Provides advice and guidance to other professionals
  • Passionate about developing client advocates around IBM's product portfolio
  • Willingness for global travel and untraditional work hours due to onsite events required
