Your role and responsibilities
As a Back-End Developer for Storage, you will design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Storage products using agile practices and DevOps tooling. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements and create creative solutions to client problems, emphasizing fail-first, fail-fast methods and world-class quality. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Design and Develop Solutions: Design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements, utilizing programming languages such as Embedded C, C, Python, REACT and Java. • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively to understand requirements and deliver solutions, using agile practices and DevOps tooling to ensure world-class quality and resiliency. • Test and Deliver Offerings: Unit test and deliver offerings for IBM Storage products • Debug and Optimize: Debug and optimize solutions using kernel debuggers and user-mode programming, ensuring strategic imperatives including artificial intelligence and cloud. • Support Strategic Imperatives: Support strategic imperatives, including artificial intelligence and cloud, by designing and developing software applications or device drivers for various operating systems.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of Software design and implementation.
- Linux application development knowledge.
- C & C++ development experience: Proficiency in low-level programming, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting: Ability to analyze and resolve software defects, memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks.
- Version Control: Use of Git and GitHub
- Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues efficiently.
- Advanced English Level.
- Web Development: Proficiency in web development using JavaScript (including modern frameworks such as React or Node.js) and understanding of backend development using Java.
- Expertise on database design, query optimization, and schema management, using SQL/SQLite
Soft Skills:
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to collaborate effectively with global teams.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work well in a distributed, cross-functional team environment.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
- Adaptability & Learning: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements.

- Hands-on experience programing within containerized environments.
- REST API Development: Experience in designing and implementing RESTful services.
- Security & Authentication: Understanding of web security best practices, LDAP, and secure coding principles.
- Agile methodology.
- Experience or some introduction to TLS or any key exchange protocols would be desirable.
- Storage & Tape Technologies knowledge.
- Shell scripting, to solve problems in Linux-based environments.
