Deployment Engineer
Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking an Deployment Engineer to join our global Systems and Network teams. In this role, you will help streamline our day-to-day operations and ensure HRT’s world-class trading environment remains resilient and high-performing. Based in Singapore, you will be on the front line for our global network infrastructure, taking ownership of the essential operational tasks that keep HRT’s trading systems running 24/7.
This is an operations-first role that requires a get-it-done attitude and a high level of dependability. You will be responsible for hands-on infrastructure management, including hardware troubleshooting, data center work coordination, and real-time system monitoring. You will work closely with senior engineers to execute deployments and resolve issues, providing an essential service that allows our engineering teams to scale.

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for remote hands and data center technicians to coordinate hardware installations and repairs
- Perform routine server and network hardware maintenance (e.g. troubleshooting, cabling work, component replacements, etc.)
- Manage network circuits work, including implementing cross connects and troubleshooting with carriers on link issues
- Monitor system health alerts and escalate critical issues to senior engineering teams
- Execute operating system installations and basic server configurations following detailed documentation
- Manage physical asset tracking and inventory across global data center locations
- Script basic solutions to automate routine checkups and operational reporting
- Willingness to work an on-call rotation schedule to cover nights and weekend shifts, as needed.
- Work closely with the Trading Operations team to coordinate and execute scheduled maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware failures in a live production environment

Qualifications
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in a hands-on technical operations role
- Basic network administration skillset, including the ability to log in to switches, routers, and firewalls to run basic commands
- Fundamental understanding of Linux/UNIX command line tools and basic system administration
- Practical experience with hardware troubleshooting (Servers, NICs, SFPs, and different types of cabling)
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts and circuit troubleshooting
- Experience with shell scripting (Bash) or Python for basic task automation is a plus
- Ability to follow complex technical instructions with extreme attention to detail
- Comfort working outside of standard business hours (evenings/weekends) to support a global, 24-hour trading cycle
- Strong cross-functional communication skills, including providing clear updates to stakeholders across time zones
- A disciplined approach to production environments
- Background in financial infrastructure teams, or tech companies with significant data center footprints, is a plus
