The Flavell Lab at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts is seeking a Research Technician to join our team. Our lab investigates how neural circuits generate neural activity patterns that give rise to complex behaviors. We use the model system C. elegans and combine genetics, optogenetics, in vivo calcium imaging, and quantitative behavioral methods to uncover fundamental organizational and functional principles of the brain. For more information about the Flavell Lab, please visit: Steven - Flavell Lab

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and creative researcher to conduct molecular, genetic, optogenetic, imaging, and quantitative behavioral experiments aimed at understanding how neural circuits produce complex behaviors in C. elegans. This position provides the opportunity to contribute to basic discoveries about circuit architecture, function, and how neural activity gives rise to behavior. We expect the hired lab member to participate fully in experimental design, data interpretation, and creative scientific inquiry, rather than perform routine or procedural tasks.
