Transport Specialist
The opportunity:
Join a dynamic logistics team managing global transportation flows into North America (Canada, US, and Mexico). In this role, you will coordinate inbound, outbound, and domestic shipments while balancing cost, service levels, and lead times.
You will work closely with carriers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of goods. This is a great opportunity to grow your expertise in global transportation operations, improve supply chain performance, and gain exposure to international logistics processes.
How you'll make an impact:
- Plan, schedule, and execute inbound, outbound, and domestic shipments (air, ocean, and ground).
- Coordinate bookings with carriers and forwarders, including pickup and delivery.
- Monitor shipments and follow up on customs clearance processes.
- Ensure timely last-mile delivery to production or sales locations.
- Identify the best transportation alternatives based on cost, transit time, and service quality.
- Track shipments using transportation systems and forwarder platforms.
- Measure and monitor key KPIs such as on-time pickup and delivery performance.
- Analyze delays, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and update daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports.
- Communicate shipment status proactively to Logistics and Sales teams.
- Collaborate with service providers to ensure efficient processes and compliance.
- Support customs clearance and assist with freight payment reconciliation.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Foreign Trade, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- +5 years of experience in transportation, including imports and exports.
- At least 3 years of experience with freight forwarders or logistics service providers.
- Solid knowledge of Incoterms and trade operations.
- Strong ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High sense of urgency and customer-oriented mindset.
- Advanced English communication skills (spoken and written).
