Tendering Manager
The opportunity
Location: Dublin (Hybrid) expectations 3 days office
(Please note we are unable to provide visa support for this position)
We are looking for a Tendering Manager to join our team and support the Hitachi Energy Grid Integration business in Ireland, based in Dublin.
In this role, you will combine technical and commercial expertise with strong leadership skills, taking ownership of the tendering and quotation process while leading, coaching and developing the team. You will play a key role in translating customer needs and business challenges into competitive and high-quality solutions.
Working closely with customers, the sales organization and internal stakeholders, you will identify new business opportunities and ensure excellence throughout the entire tender process.
How you'll make an impact:
- Lead, coordinate and continuously develop the tendering and quotation process, ensuring quality, competitiveness and compliance.
- Manage and negotiate product and service contracts with external customers.
- Develop pre-sales and contracting strategies in close collaboration with sales, marketing and business management teams.
- Structure and contribute to proposals, contracts and bid documentation in line with business objectives.
- Negotiate contract terms, manage amendments and renegotiations to accommodate scope changes, and ensure fulfilment of contractual obligations.
- Set clear goals and objectives for team members, supporting their development and ensuring delivery of operational results.
- Ensure that policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by the team and relevant stakeholders.
Your background
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Proven experience in a leadership role with people management responsibility or a clear team leader function.
- Driven, committed and service-minded professional who enjoys combining leadership with hands-on operational work.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience within tendering, engineering, sales or a similar technical-commercial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage strong customer relationships.
