Technical Writing & Editing: Systems & Software Documentation Senior Professional

The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is looking for a talented and self-standing technical writer for its Kraków, Poland location. In this role, you will cooperate with multiple development teams to write documentation for different products.
Your responsibilities
- Create and update product documentation and descriptions without oversight
- Cooperate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Developers, and other Technical Writers
- Speak with development teams to clarify feature details and specifications
- Take the lead of documentation projects
- Organize and maintain documentation sets tailored to individual customer needs, ensuring all required materials are up-to-date, consistent, and aligned with contractual or delivery requirements.
- Share your knowledge with other team members
- Test beta features and learn how our software works to become a subject matter expert
Your background
- Bachelor's degree or higher in technical writing, English, communications, or a related area of study
- Fluent English (both written and spoken)
- At least 6 years in a similar role with some experience of writing for technical audiences
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills to prepare easy-to-read text in plain English
- Practical knowledge of using international style guides for writing in English (Microsoft Manual of Style or the AP Stylebook) or STE
- Experience working with a docs-as-code workflow and the ability to prepare simple code samples
- Experience with technical writing tools (MadCap Flare), content management systems, source control systems (Git), Jira, and Confluence
