Senior SAP Developer - S/4HANA Service Programming

The Opportunity:

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior SAP Developer (Development Specialist) S/4HANA Service to provide deep technical expertise across the Issue-to-Resolution (I2R) service domain. In this role, you will design, develop, enhance, and support end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Service processes, including service requests, service orders, service confirmations, service contracts, installed base management, and service material master data.

You will play a key role in shaping the technical architecture of the S/4HANA Service solution by leveraging modern SAP technologies such as ABAP on HANA, RAP, BOPF, CDS Views, OData Services, Fiori applications, and SAP BTP extensions, while ensuring alignment with SAP's Clean Core strategy. How You'll Make an Impact:

• Design, develop, and enhance end-to-end Issue-to-Resolution (I2R) processes across SAP S/4HANA Service, including service requests, notifications, service orders, service contracts, and service confirmations.
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions and own the end-to-end technical implementation.
• Develop and extend service order and service confirmation functionality using BAdIs, SAP Enhancement Framework, RAP, and BOPF business object extensions.
• Own and document the technical architecture of the SAP S/4HANA Service solution, including data models, process flows, user interfaces, and integration touchpoints.
• Build and enhance CDS Views, OData Services, Fiori, and Fiori Elements applications to deliver modern, role-based user experiences.
• Utilize ABAP on HANA, AMDP, RAP, and code pushdown techniques to optimize application performance and scalability.
• Implement and enhance BRF+ decision logic, action profiles, determination profiles, and categorization profiles supporting service request resolution processes.
• Integrate SAP S/4HANA Service with external applications such as Salesforce and other enterprise platforms.
• Deliver upgrade-safe and clean-core compliant enhancements using released APIs, BAdIs, side-by-side extensions, and SAP-recommended extensibility approaches.
• Integrate service processes with adjacent SAP modules including Sales & Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Plant Maintenance (PM), Logistics, Finance, and Controlling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues through detailed root-cause analysis and resolution activities.
• Collaborate closely with business process owners, functional consultants, and end users to bridge techno-functional requirements across the service value chain.
• Conduct code reviews and technical design reviews to ensure compliance with development, quality, security, and performance standards.
• Create and maintain technical specifications, solution design documents, technical documentation, and knowledge articles.
• Share technical expertise and best practices within the SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) and broader development community.
• Stay current with SAP's Service and Customer Management roadmap, including S/4HANA Service, SAP Service Cloud, RAP, Fiori innovations, Clean Core strategies, AI-enabled capabilities, and SAP BTP extension technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 6-8 years of hands-on techno-functional experience in SAP CRM Service and SAP S/4HANA Service (Issue-to-Resolution) processes.
• Strong experience implementing and enhancing SAP Service solutions with a deep understanding of the underlying technical architecture.
• Proven expertise in ABAP Objects, Enhancement Framework, BAdIs, RAP, and BOPF within customer service and service management environments.
• Experience developing CDS Views, OData Services, Fiori applications, and Fiori Elements applications for service-related processes.
• Strong hands-on experience with ABAP on HANA, AMDP, code pushdown techniques, and modern SAP development practices.
• Working knowledge of BRF+ and service-related action, determination, and categorization profiles.
• Experience with at least one full lifecycle implementation and multiple enhancement/support projects in SAP S/4HANA Service.
• Knowledge of SAP integration technologies including OData, IDocs, BAPIs, and SAP Integration Suite.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within global teams.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
