The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is seeking aSenior R&D Mechanical Engineer - High Voltage to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. How you will make an impact
- Apply your expertise in technologies, tools, and methods to solve complex industrial challenges and develop innovative products and solutions
- Contribute to shaping technology strategies and project portfolios, helping guide the direction of the organization
- Work on complex engineering tasks using advanced and innovative techniques to deliver impactful R&D results
- Take on project leadership responsibilities or play a key role within project teams, while supporting and mentoring junior colleagues
- Stay up to date with key trends and technologies in your field and proactively drive improvements in operations and customer satisfaction
- Act as a subject matter expert, supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge to foster collaboration and innovation within the team
- Support business operations and customers as a technical expert and represent the team in internal and external engineering forums
- Contribute to intellectual property strategy, identify risks, and support effective risk management in R&D projects

Your background
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- 5-10 years of experience in R&D or engineering, preferably in high voltage equipment or components
- Strong expertise in the design and development of high voltage components (experience with bushings is an advantage)
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Solid understanding of business processes and R&D environments
- Proven experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
- Basic understanding of intellectual property considerations in R&D
