How you'll make an impact
- You will be responsible through breadth and depth of technical knowledge, especially power system analysis, control, and opitimization, providing application and system subject matter expertise for EMS/GMS/MMS and related systems.
- You will be responsible for contributing to regional and related best practices/templates for implementation and support in alignment with your manager and the Technical Manager.
- You will be responsible for performing architecture, design, and implementation tasks.
- You will be responsible for working with customers to understand their requirements and provide or develop technical solutions for meeting their short-term and long-term business goals.
- You will be responsible to act as the communication bridge between Japanese speaking / Japanese business culture customer / end-client and Hitachi energy internal technology teams. This is not limited to translation, although some may be required, rather the focus is on facilitation of collaboration and understanding at the technology layer.
- A key responsibility is maintaining an end-to-end understanding of the project solutions to be delivered and consult with internal and customer stakeholders and facilitating connections and communications between relevant experts internally and with customers and end-clients. This necessitates a strong ability to understand who our key experts are, create solid relationships with them and be able to know which person is the right person for a customer / end-client to interact with.
- You will work with the lead center and other relevant stakeholders to execute design and implementation tasks to proper closure, will comply with policies, practices, and procedures about technical tasks, customers, and stakeholders.
- You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- You hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Power Systems Engineering or similar.
- Minimum 5 years of systems engineering related experience in the implementation and maintenance of complex software and or engineering projects.
- Ability to learn Market Management Systems design, implementation and support.
- Ability to learn EMS modeling tools (SCADA, Network, Generation) and display building tools is plus.
- Proficiency with server hardware, virtualization, and networking.
- Experience with Factory and Site Acceptance Testing and integrating complex software systems.
- Experience within asset-intensive industries; specifically, utilities, transportation, and public infrastructure preferable.
- Native level Japanese and 5+ years working in Japanese companies dealing directly with customers and or end-users.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
