Research Team Manager - Circuit Breaker (f/m/d)

We are looking for a passionate Research Team Manager to lead our multidisciplinary Circuit Breaker research team in Baden-Dättwil (Switzerland), part of the Central European Hitachi Energy Research Center.

You are a leader

• Set clear goals and priorities for the team, ensuring alignment with the overall research strategy
• Encourage a culture of continuous learning and innovation, supporting the team in staying at the forefront of technological advancements
• Build capabilities and succession within the team: plan capacity, people and resources; coach, mentor and develop engineers; maintain the team as a center of excellence for interrupter technology

You contribute

• Oversee different research laboratories, ensuring high safety standards and compliance
• Contribute to research projects and pre-studies with your own scientific expertise
• Participate in test campaigns, including taking on the electrical emergency first aider role (training will be provided)

You are impactful

• Foster the creation of new research project proposals and strategic research initiatives
• Contribute to an innovative, motivating, and inclusive working environment

You foster collaboration

• Maintain and expand a strong network with relevant business units and leading universities
• Promote collaboration across all Hitachi Energy Research Centers

Your background

• PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Technical expertise in areas such as circuit breakers, high power testing, plasma physics, along with an interest in emerging research and technology fields
• Several years of experience and a proven track record in industrial R&D, including people leadership experience
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); German is an advantage
