R&D Team Leader GI MACH Valve Electronics

The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as an R&D Team Manager - Valve Electronics and lead a team of talented engineers developing innovative electronics and power electronics solutions for the GI MACH Valve Electronics Design Organization. In this role, you will drive the development of next-generation control systems and electronic components that support critical energy infrastructure worldwide.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of R&D engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture
• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle for valve electronics systems, from concept and feasibility studies to validation and production support
• Define project scope, priorities, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring successful delivery aligned with business objectives
• Drive research and evaluation of emerging technologies, materials, and methodologies to strengthen innovation and competitiveness
• Guide the design and development of embedded systems, control algorithms, sensor integration, and communication solutions
• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure successful product integration and delivery
• Oversee verification and validation activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and physical testing
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes while effectively communicating progress to key stakeholders

Your Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; PhD is a plus
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electronics R&D, including at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role
• Proven expertise in embedded systems, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and analog/digital circuit design
• Strong understanding of control systems, algorithm development, and product verification methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage complex projects, and drive innovation
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with fluency in English
