R&D Team Lead, Service

Job title: Service Development Team LeadThe opportunity:
We are looking for a Service Development Team Lead in the India Development Centre. You will guide the development, maintenance, quality, and operation of strategic digital service solutions focused on asset reliability, predictive analytics, digital twins, and lifecycle intelligence. The role combines people leadership, delivery execution, technical coordination, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with product owners, solution architects, quality leaders, operations, and global technology leadership. This is an opportunity to shape scalable, secure, and reliable solutions while developing engineering talent and strengthening delivery excellence in a global environment.
How you'll make an impact:

• Lead and develop the India Development Center team delivering digital service solutions.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and retain talent while building capabilities and succession plans.
• Ensure predictable execution of roadmap commitments across development, testing, release, maintenance, and operations.
• Manage delivery risks, dependencies, priorities, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
• Provide technical direction and maintain alignment with architecture, quality, security, and operational requirements.
• Promote engineering best practices, cloud-native development, DevOps, automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Ensure solution maintainability, reliability, scalability, observability, and operational readiness across the lifecycle.
• Drive performance through meaningful indicators, transparent reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Support the evolution of artificial intelligence, analytics, reliability, and digital twin capabilities.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, digital products, or cloud solution delivery, including at least 3 years leading teams.
• Strong understanding of research and development processes, software engineering practices, and continuous improvement methods.
• Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration and continuous delivery environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud-native architectures, digital product lifecycles, software development, and deployment.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, software quality, verification, validation, and lifecycle governance.
• Experience with digital twins, asset reliability, asset management, industrial Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, analytics, or data engineering.
• Strong people leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, communication, analytical thinking, customer focus, and ability to balance strategy with operational execution.
