R&D Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a R&D Engineer in Mechanical design. In this role you are responsible for design, development and integration of Mechanical components and sub-systems for our electronics' systems that Control & Protect our High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) power stations. The position is based in Ludvika or Västerås, Sweden. Up to 49% remote working, depending on task.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our fast-growing team of hardware design engineers, Product Data & Electronics Component engineering team that really strive to cooperate and focus on their tasks; developing the best possible technical solution for our MACH™ platform. How you'll make an impact

  • You will be responsible for Conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical systems for HVDC electrical products & electronic hardware, including enclosures, thermal management solutions, and product structures, from initial concept through to production.
  • You will be responsible for part design & calculation, preparing 3D CAD models & related drawings (in NX), Maintaining comprehensive documentation, including bills of materials (BOM) and technical Data sheets / reports in Teamcenter (PLM)
  • Collaborate with other engineers (e.g., Hardware, component, software) & participate in technical and cross functional design reviews and verifications, implementing modifications to elevate product quality
  • Engage with Suppliers & customers to capture and incorporate their feedback into design solutions, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective, selecting optimal materials and components.

Your background

  • You hold Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Master's or higher degree is a merit.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in product design desired.
  • Proficient skill at using 3D modeling/CAD experience, Preferably in NX.
  • Experience with the PLM tool (Teamcenter) is an added advantage.
  • Well reading mechanical drawing, and rich experiences on drawing and review with good knowledge and work experience of Sheet metal design and calculation
  • Experience and Knowledge of electronic hardware domain is a plus
  • Basic Knowledge in GD&T, Standard part selection and Surface treatment.
  • Knowledge of insulating materials, metal & alloy, and corresponding processing technique
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
