R&D Experienced Professional- DB & Backend Developer - IDC

The opportunity:
Join Hitachi Energy's India Development Centre (IDC), an R&D organization in Chennai and Bangalore. You will work
with global R&D and research centers across 12 countries. You will help design and deliver digital solutions and product
capabilities. You will build modern, secure, high-performing user interfaces. You will collaborate with cross-functional
teams, contribute to engineering best practices, and mentor other developers.

How you'll make an impact:

• Design, write, and optimize complex PostgreSQL queries, including stored functions, triggers, views, joins, and window functions.
• Improve database performance through index tuning, query plan analysis, and partitioning when needed.
• Build backend services using C#/.NET and/or Python, integrated with PostgreSQL.
• Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs using Hasura on top of PostgreSQL.
• Build REST and GraphQL endpoints with validations and structured responses.
• Apply strong transaction handling, error control, and concurrency management. Write unit, integration, and database tests, and document SQL routines, backend logic, and API schemas.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• Required experience: 4 - 6 years working with relational databases, with deep expertise in PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience with PL/pgSQL, stored routines, triggers, window functions, query tuning, and indexing strategies.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL locking, deadlocks, and concurrency/isolation levels.
• Required 5+ years developing backend applications with C#/.NET and/or Python. 2+ years working with GraphQL and Hasura on PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of REST API design and backend architecture.
• Experience using Git and standard development workflows.
