R&D Electrical Engineer - Dry Type Transformers
The opportunity
For our Technology Center in Brilon, Germany, we are looking for a Scientist or Engineer in Electrical Engineering to actively drive innovation in the development of dry-type transformers.
In this role, you will apply your strong technical expertise to develop and optimize transformer technologies and support their implementation in a global environment. You will work closely with internal technology centers and external partners, including universities, contributing to innovative solutions that support Hitachi Energy's long-term success.

- Participate in R&D projects related to the development and technology of dry-type transformers
- Develop, advance, and optimize solutions in high-voltage engineering and dielectric systems within a global framework
- Design and manufacture small prototypes for proof-of-concept and validation
- Perform and supervise application-oriented experiments
- Conduct structured problem analyses and derive robust technical solutions
- Provide scientific and technical support across projects
- Contribute to the transfer and implementation of project results into operational Hitachi Energy units
Your background
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, ideally with a focus on Medium- or High-Voltage Engineering and Dielectrics
- Strong interest in current and future technologies related to transformers
- Hands-on, innovative mindset with a structured and analytical approach
- High level of motivation, creativity, and ownership
- Collaborative and communicative team player in interdisciplinary environments
