Project Specialist (technical)

The opportunity:
As a Project Specialist (technical) at Hitachi Energy NZ Ltd., you will be instrumental in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of transformer projects, ensuring they meet objectives, deadlines, and budget. You will provide technical expertise across various project phases, contributing to Hitachi's commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
How you'll make an impact:
- You will manage transformer projects from handover to delivery, monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to ensure projects stay on track.
- You will facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
- You will prepare and present regular project status reports, identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
- You will ensure adherence to Hitachi's project management methodologies, quality standards, and compliance requirements, contribute to the refinement of project management processes and tools within the organization and ensure the practice of safe working habits for self & others; comply with the company & customer health & safety policies.
- You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
- Bachelor's degree or Masters of Science, degree in engineering.
- More than 5years of experience in transformer manufacturing or design.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Strong understanding of various project management methodologies, exceptional, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities, experience working in a global or multinational corporate environment is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required.
