Project Quality Specialist
The opportunity:
Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business unit has delivered more than 4,000 projects over the last 15 years. Our Grid Integration portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, which facilitate reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimum environmental impact. We incorporate the integrated systems, solutions and services of our business' DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections, and Semiconductors. We offer Power Consulting for key segments in the energy system, such as renewables, transmission distribution and as well as e-transportation solutions.
We're looking for a Project Quality Specialist to take ownership of our project standards. In this role, you'll align specific contract requirements with the Hitachi Energy management system, ensuring everything we build is world-class. You'll serve as a key partner to the Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager, driving the steady progress and customer satisfaction that define our project success.
This role is expected to actively be participating in the QMS activities, and based on project needs, the Project Quality Specialist will be required to be present at project site for site inspection purposes.

How you'll make an impact:
- You will lead project kick-off meetings (internal and external) to clarify contractual quality obligations and align the tendering team with project execution goals.
- You will develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP), ensuring our Quality Management System is tailored to meet specific project demands and documentation requirements.
- You will act as the primary point of contact for the customer on all quality issues, championing a culture of assurance and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- You will drive continuous improvement by managing "Project Stage Gates" and lessons-learned sessions, ensuring past insights are turned into future successes.
- You will oversee non-conformance management (NCRs) and monitor financial quality metrics-such as Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and project savings-to keep the project on track.
- You will manage site readiness and subcontractor quality, validating everything from civil works inspections to final documentation before it reaches the customer.
- You will monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and customer satisfaction (NPS), providing high-level quality insights during project review meetings.
- You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in the Electrical, Power, or Mechanical field.
- Minimum 5 years of EPC Project Quality Management experience in large-scale Power, Energy, or Data Center sectors.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, with an auditor certification preferred.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, RCA, PDCA, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Practical experience with Site Inspection Test Plans (ITP), mechanical completion, and punch list management.
- Ability to read technical drawings and proficiency in Salesforce and MS Office.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with additional languages considered a plus.
- Full commitment to traveling to project sites as required for the role.
