The opportunity:

Engineering authority in System Design & Studies for projects/tenders with low to high complexity for Substation, Power plant, Flexible A.C. Transmission Systems (FACTS) Technology aligned with Power Quality Solutions (PQS) Business and Power system business. Execution of complete engineering assignments on small, medium, or large projects/tender with cost effectively and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards.

Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Primary/Mechanical Design, Secondary/Electrical design, Control Design, consultants, end customers etc. and provide required support in each Project / Tender.

How you'll make an impact:

Power system Design

• Specifying high voltage power system components such as power transformer, CT, VT, capacitor, reactor and alike. Evaluating supplier documents and conversant with international standards used in design and testing of high voltage power system components.
• Design studies such as substation insulation coordination, protection design, switching and transient overvoltage analysis, lightning study and alike
• Delivery for complete power system solution to customer [Engineering- Procurement]

• Grid integration and Dynamic Performance Studies (DPS) for power converter-based applications such as renewable energy sources, FACTS, HVDC etc. in power system analysis software such as ETAP,MATLAB, EMTP, PSCAD, PSS/E, RTDS, DIgSILENT etc.
• Correlating performance studies results with converter control parameters and impact on sizing of power components.

• Ensuring that engineering is developed with complete information and that all multidisciplinary information has been included. Leading development of new solutions for complex projects and challenges. Coordinating design with consortium partners. May act as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completes engineering assignments for that discipline.

• Collaborating on project installation, commissioning and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors. Providing technical support to commissioning and start-up activities. Supporting Contract Manager in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).

• B.E/B. Tech, Electrical Engineering and/or with relevant work Experience of 5-10 years
• Knowledge on Simulation tools like ETAP,PSCAD/PSSE/MATLAB/DIgSILENT/RTDS
• Knowledge on International standards (i.e., IEEE/IEC/GIGRE)
• Individual contributor using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects /challenges often thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines in the organization.
• Works independently, applying established standards
• Excellent English and Thai speaker, good communication skills
• Dynamic and Proactive, willing to grow in the organization
• Team player, ready to play the role across the different countries
• Taking ownership of assignment entrusted.
