Project Execution Team Leader 80 - 100% (f/m/d)

Yesterday Zurich, Switzerland

The opportunity

As Team Lead - Project Execution, you will lead a team of 10 employees, composed of R&D Project Managers, Design Leads, and Technical Leads. The team plans, controls, and delivers complex R&D projects while ensuring technical excellence throughout execution.

You will drive strategic alignment, governance, portfolio coordination, resource management, and continuous improvement. Close collaboration is essential-with the department head, the three other teams in the department, R&D Supply Chain Management (SCM), and other Technology Centers (TCs). You define and implement methods, processes, tools, and training that elevate project execution and promote knowledge sharing across the organization.

How you'll make an impact

  • Ensure project execution supports corporate and departmental strategy through structured planning and prioritization
  • Maintain a portfolio overview; secure accurate data; prepare decisions on scope, budgets, and resources, considering interdependencies across projects and functions
  • Provide operational assistance by directly managing projects or supporting defined tasks and interventions
  • Define and implement standards for stakeholder communication, forecasting, and reporting; facilitate transparent decision making (e.g., pre-STECO readiness)
  • Develop and maintain standardized methodologies and tools for project execution, portfolio tracking, and governance (including gate model adherence)
  • Enable capability growth via structured curricula and coaching for PMs, Design Leads, and Technical Leads; drive adoption of improved ways of working
  • Work closely with the department head, peer teams, R&D SCM, and TCs to ensure alignment, feasibility, and resource availability
  • Lead initiatives that increase efficiency, transparency, quality, and learning (retrospectives, lessons learned, and process updates)
