Production Specialist
The opportunity
We are looking for our next "Production Specialist" in Hitachi Energy at Transformer Core Cutting Factory Dilovası - Kocaeli, who is eager to contribute to change with a continuous improvement mindset and inspire people in the organization to reach the level of ''World Class Manufacturing '' necessities with the following qualifications.
A Transformer Core Cutting Production Specialist is a specialized manufacturing role focused on the precise cutting, slitting, and processing of silicon steel electrical sheets to form transformer magnetic cores. This role ensures the core cutting lines operate first safely then efficiently to meet quality, cost, and design specifications while minimizing scrap and downtime.
How you'll make an impact
- Strong commitment to HSE standards, ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and promoting a strong safety culture
- Drive operational excellence and deliver the best possible customer experience
- Identify, assess and mitigate risks, ensuring safe operations, especially in relation to heavy machinery and steel handling
- Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies to improve productivity, reduce setup times and support continuous improvement
- Monitor and analyze operational KPIs using structured problem-solving methods (A3, 8D) to address root causes and improve performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools, systems and operational processes
- Provide daily technical support to shop floor operators to resolve manufacturing and quality issues
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Production engineering
- Proven experience in manufacturing/production environments; sheet metal production experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Solid problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis (RCA) on non-conforming products
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence; Lean Six Sigma experience is an asset
- Hands-on experience with production lines and industrial machinery; familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment is a plus
- Strong communication skills, collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in teams
- Good command of written and spoken English & Turkish
- Completed military service for male applicants
