How you'll make an impact

  • You will manage and oversee all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and control for the assigned Operating Units in Japan and ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS and Japanese GAAP for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • You will monitor financial budgets and forecasts, provide insightful variance analysis and corrective action recommendations and ensure robust internal controls are in place and operate effectively to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • You will liaise with internal and external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information provision and compliance also drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • You will manage, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals within the OU, ensure adherence to all Hitachi Group financial policies and procedures also partake in project reviews and provide advice and feedback on financial performance of the projects.
  • You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or controller role within a multinational corporation.
  • Demonstrated experience with Japanese GAAP and IFRS.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively partner with business leaders and stakeholders around the world.
  • Proficiency in SAP. S4HANA is highly desirable. Advance Excel skills with strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Experience in the technology sector is highly desirable. Familiarity with revenue recognition methods.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and spoken) is essential.
