The Scrum Product Owner (PO) is accountable for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the Scrum Team. The PO manages and prioritizes the product backlog, defines product vision and roadmap, collaborates with stakeholders to understand needs and requirements, ensures alignment with business objectives, and makes decisions on feature prioritization to deliver maximum business value.
Key tasks:
Product Backlog Management
• Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog
• Define and communicate product vision and roadmap
• Ensure backlog items are clearly defined with acceptance criteria
• Refine and order backlog items based on business value and dependencies
Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, customers, and end-users
• Gather and analyze requirements and feedback
• Communicate product decisions and priorities to all stakeholders
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment
Sprint Planning & Execution
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Clarify user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team
• Make timely decisions on scope and priorities during sprints
• Accept or reject completed work based on acceptance criteria
Value Optimization
• Define and track key product metrics and KPIs
• Ensure ROI and business value delivery
