The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services. Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you'll make an impact

1. You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of repair and maintenance engineers and technicians. Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

2. You will oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Implement and optimize maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.

3. You will diagnose complex technical issues, identify root causes of equipment failures, and develop effective long-term solutions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on failure analysis.

4. You will provide expert technical guidance and support to the team and other departments on equipment repair, troubleshooting, and optimization. Stay abreast of new technologies and best practices in industrial maintenance.

5. You will ensure all repair and maintenance activities adhere to strict safety protocols, company policies, and relevant industry regulations. Promote a strong safety culture within the team.

6. You will manage spare parts inventory, tools, and equipment efficiently. Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of necessary resources also maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and performance metrics. Generate reports on team performance, equipment reliability, and cost effectiveness.

7. You will liaise effectively with production, operations, quality assurance, and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activities and support overall operational goals also contribute to and manage maintenance budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

8. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.

2. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial repair and maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience within a large-scale manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred.

3. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

4. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex machinery and control systems (PLCs, SCADA).

5. Experience with various maintenance techniques (preventive, predictive, reliability-centered maintenance).

6. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software, proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a technical team. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

7. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a systematic approach to technical challenges, demonstrable commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of industrial safety regulations (e.g., LOTO).
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently, and proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
