Local Business Controller

The opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, our purpose is advancing a sustainable energy future for all. We are looking for a highly motivated Business Financial Controller to join our Grid Automation unit, supporting operations Türkyie. This role can be based in Istanbul (TR).

As a local Business Controller, you will play a key role in enabling effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data. You will ensure accurate reporting, compliance with standards, and provide financial insights that drive operational excellence and strategic growth.

How you'll make an impact

• Deliver monthly closings, forecasts, and full financial packages on time, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and business managers to support operational decision-making.
• Provide financial support across the full project lifecycle - from tendering to execution, close-out, and warranty.
• Monitor KPIs to optimize cost structures and improve productivity.
• Perform quality checks on reporting data, including analytical reviews of major fluctuations and FX impacts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, IFRS standards, and internal controls; support internal and external audits.
• Drive transparency in financial reporting and disclosures.
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and contribute to transformation initiatives.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in finance and business control; project control experience is a plus.
• Strong accounting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and solid knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/S4).
• A collaborative team player with a proactive, goal-oriented mindset.
• High level of both English and Turkish (written and spoken).
