General information:
Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Systems Integration Engineer for it's Santa Clara, CA or Houston, TX locations. This role is responsible for designing, Implementing, and maintaining the Energy Market Management systems and environments.
Summary
Build and solve Linux production systems at scale. Multi-datacenter deployment and supporting a large-scale Linux environment with heterogeneous hardware. Build automation tools and scripts using Bash, Python, etc. Design and support orchestration pipeline using Ansible. Fix and address issues with UNIX and TCP/IP network stack components. Design and support Linux systems (RedHat/CentOS etc) including automated OS installation, Linux Hardening, compile and validate various kernels, package management, OS lifecycle management, diagnostic, and performance troubleshooting/profiling. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Key Qualifications
Extensive Linux experience, especially with RHEL or compatible systems like CentOS
Excellent application troubleshooting skills using debuggers such as GDB, DBX, Totalview
Excellent documentation skills for systems cookbooks
Experience with programming languages like Python, C, C++
Experience with REST APIs, Mini Services, DevSecOps.
Experience in JSON/XML/Xpath/SOAP
Messaging based middleware, API's and integration technologies.
Experience with alerting, monitoring and deployments
Solid understanding of GitOps
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

10 years of experience in key qualifications

Description
This is Senior Linux system Engineer position with dedicated focus on E2E system integration and validation
Build, automate and support critical infrastructure supporting applications used across multiple teams.
Run different automation pipelines in the large ecosystem, including provision, orchestration, and supervising on Linux baremetal and Linux Virtual Machines.
Collaborate across teams to run workloads and analyze/debug data
Write code, tests, documentation, participate in code reviews
Additional Requirements a plus
Knowledge of Messaging Systems such as ActiveMQ or Kafka
Knowledge of Web Servers such as apache httpd, tomcat etc
Knowledge of compilers such OneAPI, GCC
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud Technologies
