Industrial Engineering Manager
The Industrial Engineering Manager will lead and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness within HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED. This role involves applying industrial engineering principles to improve operational performance and support strategic business goals.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of industrial engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
Develop, implement, and maintain industrial engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices across manufacturing operations.
Conduct time studies, motion studies, and process analyses to identify bottlenecks, waste, and areas for improvement.
Design and optimize production layouts, material flow, and workstation designs to enhance efficiency and ergonomics.
Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing processes.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other relevant methodologies.
Develop and implement capacity planning models to ensure optimal resource utilization and meet production demands.
Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and identify trends.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and R&D to drive operational excellence.
Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and equipment to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for management on process improvements and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering roles within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
Proven expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Proficiency in process mapping, time studies, capacity planning, and layout optimization.
Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
