HMI/SCADA Engineer
The opportunity:
Hitachi Energy FACTS technology uses a very high-end system for its control, protection and monitoring. This system is called MACH. This computerized system is built with state-of-the-art electronics, microprocessors and digital signal processors, connected by high performance industry standard busses and fiber optic communication links. They operate on very high standard application software designed by the control engineering team for which there is a need for experienced SOM Application engineers for the Control System. As the system is being continuously evolved, the Station Operating and Monitoring System (SOM) is becoming more complex and customized. It requires a great deal of design, testing & verification of HMI, SCADA, Network & Cybersecurity areas.

How you'll make an impact:
- Development and Engineering of HMI and SCADA Application for FACTS technology in AVEVA System Platform and MicroSCADA solutions.
- Perform verification of HMI and SCADA/Gateway Solutions of our Control systems in Test area and participate in Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test.
- Design and validation of Control system network architecture and support developing Control system documentation.
- Support our delivery organization with the assistance they need in order to successfully implement our new solution towards customer project until commissioning. As well as supporting the tender organization for new opportunities.
- Responsible for design, project schedule, budget, and quality of deliverables during the entire project execution process for control engineering scope.
- Extensive contact with other engineering disciplines, the project manager, project management engineer and externally to our customer during factory acceptance and commissioning phase.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), or Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (E&I).
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in oil and gas, energy, utilities, or substation automation systems.
- Strong foundation in electrical control systems and SCADA/DCS platforms.
- Hands-on experience designing HMI solutions using MicroSCADA and AVEVA System Platform.
- Knowledge of the IET600 engineering tool, SCIL programming, and the IEC 61850 standard.
- Competence in substation automation engineering and station control systems based on MicroSCADA, including IEC 61850-8-1, Modbus, OPC DA/UA, IEC protocols, and DNP.
- Good understanding of Ethernet network topologies and redundancy concepts.
- Experience in IEC 61850, MicroSCADA HMI, event and database management, or communication protocols is an advantage.
- A proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and consistently delivers high-quality work on time.
- Motivated to contribute to continuous improvement and the development of new solutions.
- Proficient in English and comfortable collaborating and exchanging knowledge in an international environment.
- Able to work independently while applying established standards and procedures.
