The opportunity

We are looking for a Global Product Owner for HVDC Control & Protection Hardware to join our growing team. You will play a key role in shaping standardized, high-performance hardware solutions that support the global energy transition through large-scale transmission and offshore wind projects.

As part of the HVDC product owner community and the HVDC Control & Protection Core Management Team, you'll lead the hardware roadmap, collaborate with R&D, and ensure delivery quality across our global production sites. The role reports to the Global Engineering Manager HVDC Control & Protection and functionally to the Global Product Owner HVDC Control & Protection.

How you'll make an impact

  • Act as a role model by exemplifying Hitachi Energy's Leadership Pillars-vision, collaboration, accountability, and people development. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and requirements for GI MACH and T&SD.
  • Oversee life-cycle management of your HVDC Control & Protection domain and Identify business needs and tech trends to ensure continuous improvement of hardware solutions aligned with strategic goals.
  • Support major technical decisions impacting hardware delivery and solutions. Contribute to the HVDC Control & Protection core management team to shape departmental strategy and operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement, transformation, and standardization efforts for hardware solutions.
  • Stay informed on global developments and evolving methodologies in your field.
  • Collaborate across domains with the Global Product Owner team to steer the HVDC Control & Protection product offering.

Your background

  • Deep expertise in the MACH platform, HVDC Control & Protection hardware, technical standards, and customer engagement.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passionate about technology, quality, and continuous improvement; decisive and self-driven in dynamic environments.
  • Proactive and collaborative, thriving in change and valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Customer-focused with a structured, problem-solving mindset and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Swedish or other languages is a plus.
