Global Manager HVDC Electrical Plant Design
The opportunity
The HVDC organization is growing rapidly, and Electrical Plant Design is a critical function for successful tendering and project execution worldwide.
Reporting to the Global Head of HVDC Plants, Civil and Digital Engineering, this position is essential to addressing our future requirements. In this role, you will play a vital part in the development of scalable operational structures, processes, and teams, while leading the transformation of our engineering practices.
Our Global Manager, HVDC Electrical Plant Design requires a strategic thinker, and influential leader with a strong technical background and a passion for driving innovation to elevate and create a step-change in engineering execution through automation, modern tools, standardized processes, and the practical use of AI.

- Drive "Safety by Design" practices and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Deliver cutting-edge transformation projects across the globe to automate the field of electrical engineering.

- Harmonize the use of tools and platforms, enable the use of AI and data-driven solutions to improve quality, productivity, and lead times.
- Recruit and lead a globally distributed organization, with engineers and managers located across multiple regions.
- Build and coach a strong leadership team and ensure consistent ways of working globally.
- Set direction, priorities, and performance targets for our global design organisation.
- Enable the delivery of high quality, efficient and scalable, standardized processes, systems and solutions.
- Ensure that digital, automation, and AI initiatives are embedded into daily engineering work.
- Own global capacity planning, resource allocation, and delivery capability for tenders and projects.
- Act as an escalation point for critical delivery or capability issues.
Your background
- Degree in Electrical /Power/ Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of relevant local health & safety and environmental regulations.
- Proven experience leading large, global engineering organizations with multiple management layers.
- Strong understanding of electrical plant design and complex infrastructure or energy projects.
- Demonstrated experience in driving transformation, digitalization, or automation.
- Strong interest and practical mindset around AI, automation, and modern engineering tools.
- Clear, confident leadership style with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational level.
