Join Hitachi Energy as part of our Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization, where you will help shape the supply network that supports critical power infrastructure around the world. In this role, you will develop and implement global category strategies focused on optimizing cost, quality, delivery performance, and supplier reliability while ensuring supplier capability and capacity meet evolving business needs. You will work closely with suppliers, procurement professionals, and cross-functional stakeholders to support sourcing initiatives, supplier management activities, commercial negotiations, forecasting, and cost improvement programs. Your work will contribute to the dependable delivery of products and services that support the power industry, while helping drive informed business choices through market intelligence, benchmarking activities, and category strategy development. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex supply chain challenges, collaborate across global teams, and build expertise in procurement and sourcing within the power transformer industry.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Develop and implement global category strategies aligned with business priorities and future supply requirements.
- Manage supplier forecasting, cost budgets, and savings forecasts to support operational and financial targets.
- Minimize supply risks by defining and managing the supply base in line with quality, commercial, and company requirements.
- Negotiate global supplier agreements, including pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Design and implement cost reduction initiatives and processes to achieve financial goals.
- Conduct benchmarking activities, including cost baseline studies, should-cost modeling, and global price database initiatives.
- Communicate category strategies and progress with stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Define governance processes and steer project sourcing strategies in collaboration with procurement teams.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a supply chain function within a project environment.
- Experience working with Power Transformers.
- Excellent communication and networking skills, with sound problem-solving capabilities.
- Technical interest and ability to solve complex problems independently.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages are considered an advantage.
